New Neon Light Sculptures explore weather, journies and emotions

Posted on September 28, 2025January 17, 2026

Lumiere Durham, Light Biennale, 2023

I created five new playful neon installations exploring the relationship between the weather and physical and emotional journeys.exploring the relationship between the weather and physical and emotional journeys. Using weather icons as a metaphor for emotions the series reflects on those everyday and seemingly mundane trips and more emotional events such as weddings, anniversaries, births and deaths. Underpinning these neon works is the relationship between climate change and wellbeing which is central to Moesby’s body of work.

Points of departure and arrival were chosen for the locations of the work, in a physical and metaphorical context. Taxi Rank, Bus Station, Ferry, Train Station and passport Office. These transitional spaces are often spaces where we arrive and depart, where people meet hello or say good bye, where we prepare for arrivals and departures.
